Political views

Politics has a strange way to change people... Generally, when one gets to a high vantage point, one is in awe of the sight and gets very reflective of his life and how small he is in comparison and how insignificant one is in the realm of life. Whether it is a view from outer space, a view from the flight, a view from the middle of the ocean, a view from the smallest hill or even from the tallest building near or neighborhood. But in politics, when one reaches such a vantage point, and had been given the power to see the larger things, he tends to feel just the opposite. Instead of feeling small, he feels huge. Instead of humility he feels pride. Instead of breathing in the beauty and wanting to make a difference, he gets blinded by power. The biggest reason for this is education and one's upbringing. Elections Musing

Coming from an advertising background, I find the elections pretty weird. Even from a marketing perspective actually it seems strange. So often, we are briefed on jobs for targeted communication. Hyper local activities as they call them. And then there are brand campaigns. I am surprised that the elections confer up with brand campaigns but have no hyper local communication... Should I vote for someone who has done great work in Gujarat or Delhi or nowhere or do I vote for someone who has done since good work outside my house. But strangely, I never see those who contest near my house anytime but during elections. And that too, because the party they represent requires them to. Why can't we as people push to see those contesting in our areas more often. Make a list of what they would do and evaluate them on that? More than BJP, Congress or AAP campaigns, wish I could see more localized ads apart from those dirty banners. Even if not adds, at least see them more often, intera
